Georges River Life Care supports vulnerable and at risk families in our local community through the provision of food, case management and other support services. Since 2020 we have distributed over 3,000 food hampers to families doing it tough due to the cost of living crisis, and other issues like family breakdown and domestic and family violence.
Together with Moorebank Sports Club and Freedom Fitness NSW, you are invited to come help make a difference and register for our family friendly fundraising walk, Care for a Walk?, along picturesque Chipping Norton Lake, to support the lives of so many in our community battling everyday to put food on the table.
Funds raised through Care for a Walk? will go towards the purchase of a commercial vehicle to transport rescued food and food hampers to meet the exponential growth in demand from vulnerable and at risk families in Hammondville, Holsworthy, Moorebank, Chipping Norton, Warwick Farm and Wattle Grove.
The clients and communities we serve have been severely impacted by the cost of living crisis and the ongoing impacts of domestic and family violence. In order for Georges River Life Care to increase our capacity and resources to provide nutritious, fresh and culturally appropriate food items across the entire footprint of the Holsworthy electorate, we require a commercial van for our volunteers to provide a sustainable and timely food rescue and hamper service to our clients.
Money raised from Care for a Walk? will go towards the purchase of a commercial food rescue vehicle.
Register for the event and commit to a minimum fundraising target ($100 for individuals; $200 for families; $300 team/school/organisation)
On Sunday September 8, gather with fellow walkers and supporters from 10am to sign in, for a 11am start at Homestead Park Chipping Norton and enjoy an easy, paved 5km loop walk along the stunning Georges River
Experience the post walk carnival atmosphere with a sausage sizzle, coffee cart, cake stall, kids games and face painting and other fun activities until 1pm at Homestead Park
Encourage friends family colleagues and clients to sponsor your walk, contributing to our overall target of $15,000
Our mission at Georges River Life Care is to see families and communities flourish through caring and compassionate services. Relationships and connection are at the heart of everything we do.
Every step you take with us is a stride toward a better future. Learn more about our dedication to making a difference.
